Welcome to the Golf Capital Chorus Web Site

We sing so that we can bring gifts of hope to the less fortunate through our charitable contributions of both time and money.

In early December, 1980, five men who had previous barbershop experience gathered at the Pinecrest Inn's piano bar and agreed to organize a local barbershop chapter. On January 12, 1981 at 7:30 PM our initial rehearsal began with 37 potential members.

On August 17, 1981 we received our official chapter charter, and each year since the Chorus has presented a show designed to appeal to all residents of the Sandhills and to raise money for charity. The proceeds from these shows benefit both local and national charities. During the recent expansion of the Sandhills Children's Center, the Chorus contributed $20,000 for one of the new rooms. The Chorus has donated more than $210,000 to charity since its founding.

As the Chorus has grown, it has become more widely recognized. We have performed at the Civic Center in Raleigh, in Fayetteville, and at many other locations in central North Carolina. The Chorus also performs a show in Hamlet as a benefit for the Roberdel School for Exceptional Children.

The Chorus has grown from its initial 5 founders to more than 80 members. The Chorus also has quartets available to entertain your group and to help us raise money for our charities.

Membership is open to any male who has some voice capability, and "ear" for music, likes to sing and have fun. If you are interested, come to one of our practice sessions, held every Monday evening from 7 tp 9 PM at the Community Presbyterian Church on 125 Everett Road in Pinehurst. Contact by email Larry Harter or call Larry at (910) 295-3529 for more information.
